“As I reflect on my yoga journey, I recall a stage in my life of uncertainty. I had recently exited the military and was unsure of my path. I came across a description of what yoga was and how it provided stress relief and mental well-being. Little did I know 14 years later my introduction to yoga would be my connection to self. As life continued for me I would always find my way back to my mat. When I am asked, ‘Why yoga?,’ I respond with ‘Why not yoga?’ Yoga for me provides a mind and body connection, aiding in mental relief, but also allowing me to become centered and to honor my current path in life. In the words of the late great Maya Angelou, ‘When you learn, teach.
